Note: This keyboard case is compatible with any keyboard that has the GH60 form factor. This includes the Pok3r, Pok3r RGB, Poker II, and others, but not the “New Poker II”.
Combining form and function, the 60% clam-shell hardwood case is a coupling of portability and functionality. The halves of every unit are CNC-milled from a single piece of Red Cherry or Black Walnut. After milling, the wood is carefully routed along the edges at a 45 degree angle and the screw studs are mounted by hand. Each case is finely hand sanded until the wood has a smooth texture, then the wood is cleaned and coated. Two coats of ultra-clear semi-gloss lacquer are applied to the work after it has been prepared, and then it is sanded with ultra fine sandpaper to flatten out any uneven material. Finally it is coated again with a heavy layer of lacquer to provide a lasting and beautiful finish. Every case is given a full 24 hours to let the coating cure before being shipped out.
The pieces are typically milled out of the same piece of wood, right next to each other, so that the grain and colors match. If however, the wood plank geometry doesn’t allow for them to be milled together, we visually match the pieces as best we can to get the pieces to color and grain match. Due to the nature of wood, the color, grain, and overall appearance of the pieces can vary greatly. Even within the same species of wood this occurs.
The edges of the lid and base are milled with reciprocal interlocking designs, so the case fits together and looks like a small box when put together. The case also features 8-3mm round, high strength, steel coated, neodymium magnets embedded into the top edge of the wood of each half of the case, securing the lid and base together. While the case is opened and in use, there are magnets on the front of the case that latch to each other. This is so that the lid can be used as a wrist rest without sliding around easily. This adds 4 magnets to the sides of each half, so every case has 24 little magnets embedded into it.
Wear & Tear Information
We use a thick coat of lacquer to coat our cases, so a case doesn’t typically need to be refinished, and will be somewhat resistant to wear. However, normal usage tends to change the way the finish will look, areas that are in constant contact with human skin tend to get shinier over time. High humidity environments may mean this could happen sooner. The cases are not resistant to water, and moisture will damage the finish. If a case needs to be refinished for whatever reason, we’re happy to do that free of charge, just contact us through our contact form and you will receive instructions for sending it in to get a fresh coat.
Warranty & Guarantee
If there is a problem with your case within 30 days of purchase, we will offer a refund or a replacement case.
